BASELINE QUALIFICATIONS:

This position will possess the knowledge, skill, and/or ability in the following areas essential to perform the functions of the position

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Four years college degree or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to a four-year college degree in accounting and/or construction applications
  • 3-5 years of experience with business analysis and developing business processes and solutions

 

Four years of ERP applications experience for:

  • Construction systems
  • Financial systems
  • Project Management systems

Items considered a plus:

  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista
  • Experience with reporting and development tools

 

Language / Communication Skills:

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills for effective training, documenting, and interfacing to the user community at all levels of the organization

 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to use basic math, geometry and algebra
  • Mathematical and business acumen typically needed to understand construction job costs, and financial business processes

 

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Listening skills
  • Ability to promote a positive TEAM attitude and a desire to help at all times while maintaining an approachable business posture exhibiting a positive attitude towards users
  • Ability to maintain great user relations and convey/enforce established corporate policies in terms of supporting user activities and meeting their need for service, help, and application advice or consultation
  • Ability to mentor and help develop the skills of IT team and business users

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Analytical skills to determine root causes and determine best course of action for effective solutions
  • Ability to understand and develop “best practices” based on the company’s mission and vision
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and evaluate, troubleshoot, and solve problems

 

Physical Demands:

  • Up to 20% travel to consult and support business systems and associated processes
  • Must be able to travel to user sites by automobile or airplane to implement solutions, gather requirements, conduct or attend training classes, etc.

 

Safety:

  • May be required to visit construction sites which require wearing proper PPE and conformity to company safety standards
  • Must maintain an OSHA 30 hour safety certification (provided by the company)

 

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment relative to data processing activities
  • When on jobsites; Work-trailer type environment with less regulated temperatures, dust, mud and the like Also, increased noise levels from heavy equipment and construction work being performed

AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Summary Role Description:

  • This position is a lead resource for the successful use by business and field operations relative to our ERP systems and associated applications
  • Builds a strong rapport with the Operations and Finance teams and communicates with them regularly
  • Works with Field Operations and Local Finance teams to consult/advise on ERP features & functions
  • Assures solutions are documented, tested, and debugged prior to implementation into the production environment
  • Works with IT peers and users to coordinate and execute ERP and business process related work items
  • Responsible to provide end-user training for ERP systems and associated applications

 

Manages ERP Ongoing Implementation and Support Activities:

  • Works with IT and users to evaluate, test, debug, and document ERP features, changes, and solutions prior to their promotion into our production environments
  • Performs configurations to the business applications as needed
  • Monitors active Help Desk issues logged by users and expedites resolutions either through personal knowledge, the IT support team, or as a liaison working with the ERP vendor support teams
  • Leads and/or participates in custom projects, as they may relate to the ERP systems or associated applications
