2025 Bike MS – Team MRE
Another year, another successful Bike MS: Texas MS 150 in the books for Team MRE! Our team of 25 riders recently completed the two-day event, once again demonstrating their commitment to supporting the National MS Society. It was inspiring to see everyone come together to pedal towards a future free of multiple sclerosis. Sporting our sharp new team jerseys and kits, and with the weather on our side, the weekend was filled with camaraderie and purpose.
Here are some thoughts from our riders:
Trinh Nguyen, Returning Team MRE Rider
Favorite moment – “My favorite moment was when fellow cyclists encouraging you to keep going when climbing one of many hills.”
Advice for future riders – “As a second-year rider, it is a rewarding experience and therapeutic. You will want to keep cycling and push your limits.”
Mike Short, Long-Time Team MRE rider
Favorite moment – “Getting off the bike in La Grange; seeing rookies finish!”
Advice for future riders – “Pedal Dammit!”
Zach Esmond, New Team MRE rider
“It was truly an honor riding with team MRE for the first time, as a third time rider I must say MRE does it right! The logistics, people (both volunteers and riders), custom routes and accommodations were top-notch. Hanging out with MRE folks, networking with new faces from Fluor, and the volunteers taking great care of us made this an unforgettable experience.”
Favorite moment – “Crossing the finish line! I set a personal goal of no stopping other than designated rest stops, although it was painful day two, I achieved my goal!”
Advice for future riders – “Get out and ride!”
Jessica Richardson, Team MRE captain
“It feels rewarding. I got to work more hands-on with the MS Society and help grow our team, which was exciting after hosting smaller groups in previous years. Seeing the riders gear up in our MRE kits at the start and cross the finish line in College Station were big highlights.”
Favorite moment – “My favorite part was spending time with our riders and supporters at Kyle Field. I think the bigger team tent gave us more space to come together, enjoy the finish line activities, and close out the weekend on a good note.”
Advice for future volunteers – “We need you!! If you aren’t big on riding, join us instead. Bring a friend or spouse to bunk with and just go with it. The logistics side is the backbone of our team’s participation, and we rely on strong volunteers to show up for our riders. It’s a great way to get involved with MRE, our people, and most importantly, the support of research for those affected by multiple sclerosis.”
Overall, this year’s ride was another meaningful and successful event for Team MRE. A huge thank you to every single rider who pushed themselves, every volunteer who dedicated their time and energy, and every supporter who cheered us on and contributed to this important cause. Your collective efforts make a real difference in the fight against multiple sclerosis.
Thank you!
